Technology to Support County Meetings

  • Tucker County will be  using one or more technologies to conduct its business functions through County Commission Meetings as well as other Boards and Authority meetings.  Where technically possible we will make a concerted effort to provide public access.  We may have to modify the manner in which we typically conduct our meetings to ensure public safety. All meetings conducted electronically do have public access mechanisms to ensure transparency of government operations.

Restricting Attendance at Public MeetingsOpen Meetings Act Opinion(s)  O.M.A.O

In considering the holdings in O.M.A.O.s 1999-08 and 2010-02,  it is staff’s opinion that it would be reasonable for a public agency to limit in-person attendance at public meetings in accordance with applicable guidance issued by the WHO, CDC or other authorized health or government organizations.  It is staff’s opinion, therefore, that conducting a meeting in which the public can attend electronically via a call-in number would satisfy the requirements of the Open Meetings Act.  If there is a need to attend a meeting which is being conducted electronically to comply with CDC guidance please contact the meeting organizer to see how access may be obtained.
