The Tucker County Assessor’s office collects data related to real and personal property throughout the county for the purposes of valuation and taxation. Dog tags and goat/sheep fees are also assessed and collected. Billing and collections of property taxes is done by the Tucker County Sheriff’s Office.

For information on how to receive a refund for your personal property tax paid, please review the link below. All refunds are made by and through the State of West Virginia and ARE NOT REFUNDED by the Assessor’s office, nor the Sheriff’s office. This is a State of West Virginia tax adjustment credit.

Personal Property Forms due by: Individual – Oct. 1; Business – Sept. 1
Farm Reports are due by Sept. 1
Applications for Homestead Exemption must by filed: July 1 through Dec. 1
